August 30th -Celebrate El Día de Santa Rosa by Watching the Beautiful Caballo de Paso

"Less than an hour away from Lima, you can celebrate day of the Patron Saint of Lima, Santa Rosa, by spending the afternoon watching and participating in Peruvian customs. On August 30th, Hacienda Mamacona will be presenting a fantastic spectacle called “El Caballo Peruano de Paso y la Fiesta Nacional” (The Peruvian Paso horse and the national festival).

There will be live music, presentations of Marinera, the beautiful, nationally recognized dance, and of course, many demonstrations of the beauty, grace and skill that one associates with the Peruvian Paso Horse. There will be various explanations of the raising of such beautiful animals, the care involved and the techniques and training utilized. Appetizers, snacks, and of course, the obligatory Pisco Sour will be served while you watch the various events. Presentations will be in both English and Spanish.

After the spectacle, a delicious buffet will be served, of course, with the best Peruvian cuisine. And, after a fabulous lunch, you will have the opportunity to ride a Peruvian Paso horse yourself, so you can see why these animals are reputed to have the smoothest gait out of all the horses in the world."
